Interior Glazed Partitions
A glass panel in an interior wall between a bright living room and a dark hallway allows daylight to travel through. Even a relatively small glass insert โ a long narrow sidelight or a series of glass blocks โ can dramatically change the light quality of an interior space.
Glazed Interior Doors

Reflective Surfaces that Work With Glass
Glass brings light in; what happens to it after depends on the surfaces it encounters. Lighter wall finishes, polished or glossy surfaces, and mirrors placed opposite windows all help distribute daylight further. A large mirror on the wall opposite a window essentially creates a second "window" โ it reflects the view and the light back into the room.

Translucent vs. Transparent Glass
Not every borrowed light application requires transparent glass. Translucent options โ frosted, acid-etched, or sandblasted glass โ transmit diffuse light without allowing visual connection between spaces. This is ideal for privacy applications: a frosted glass partition between a bedroom and hallway transmits morning light without compromising privacy.
